Masala Chai (Spiced Tea)

Ingredients

  • 5 cardamom pods
  • ½ tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon or possibly ¼ cinnamon stick
  • 5 black peppercorns
  • 6 tsp sugar
  • 2 cloves
  • 4 tsp black tea
  • 1 2/3 c. (40 cl) lowfat milk
  • 1 2/3 c. (40 cl) water

Directions

  1. Put all of the spices and the water into a saucepan and bring to the boil
  2. Remove from the heat as soon as it starts to boil
  3. Add in the tea leaves and sugar
  4. Leave to infuse for 3 min or possibly more if you prefer your tea stronger
  5. Heat up the lowfat milk separately
  6. Strain the tea before adding the warm lowfat milk and serving
