,%20World%20Health%20Day%20or%20Earth%20Day%20etc.%20My%20choice%20was%20Earth%20Day,%20and%20I%20almost%20never%20got%20there.%20The%20story%20is%20long,%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20write%20the%20saga,%20and%20you%20certainly%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20read%20it!%20To%20cut%20it%20short,%20the%20fiddly%20feet%20didn%E2%80%99t%20appear%20over%208%20attempts,%20and%20the%20ones%20I%20post%20today%20are%20ones%20I%20found%20in%20between,%20but%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20too%20happy%20with.%20They%20make%20me%20feel%20happy%20now%20though,%20since%20the%20filling%20was%20fun!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20posting%20them%20because%20I%20was%20egged%20on%20to%20%E2%80%98show%20my%20feet%E2%80%98%20by%20Mardi%20at%20Eat%20Live%20Travel%20Write%20last%20evening,%20who%20promised%20she%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20laugh%20at%20my%20feet,%20and%20would%20stand%20by%20me.%20Jamie%20showed%20off%20the%20most%20amazing%20feet%20in%20a%20picture%20on%20twitter,%20and%20reasserted%20that%20she%20indeed%20is%20the%20Mac%20Queen!!%20I%20am%20still%20in%20search%20of%20a%20100%25%20macaron%20success%20rate,%20but%20am%20inspired%20(or%20stupid%20enough),%20whichever%20way%20you%20want%20to%20look%20at%20it,%20to%20keep%20trying%20on%20a%20daily%20basis.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20filling%20is%20the%20part%20I%20liked%20best.%20I%20wanted%20to%20make%20matcha%20macs%20for%20Earth%20Day,%20in%20blues%20and%20greens,%20but%20it%20was%20not%20to%20be%20as%20they%20spread%20and%20bubbled%20alarmingly%20like%20lava%20once%20in%20the%20oven.%20Man%20Friday%20is%20having%20a%20field%20day.%20He%20takes%20my%20failed%20attempts%20home%20for%20his%20son%20everyday,%20so%20I%20have%20an%20alternate%20to%20filling,%20stacking%20and%20hiding%20my%20epic%20failures.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEarth%20Day%20is%20a%20day%20designed%20to%20inspire%20awareness%20and%20appreciation%20for%20the%20Earth%E2%80%99s%20environment%20%20and%20is%20held%20on%20April%2022.%20It%20was%20founded%20by%20U.S.%20Senator%20Gaylord%20Nelson%20as%20an%20environmental%20teach-in%20in%201970%20and%20is%20celebrated%20in%20many%20countries%20every%20year.%20Earth%20Day%20is%20in%20spring%20in%20the%20Northern%20Hemisphere%20and%20autumn%20in%20the%20Southern%20Hemisphere.%20My%20message%20is%20simple%20%E2%80%A6%20lets%20try%20and%20go%20local,%20reduce%20waste,%20recycle,%20save%20energy%20and%20water,%20spread%20the%20words,%20look%20at%20sustainable%20development%20%E2%80%A6%20i.e.%20do%20our%20bit%20for%20the%20Earth!%20In%20the%20micro%20sense,%20I%20piped%20my%20macarons%20with%20recycled%20bags,%20and%20also%20recycled%20my%20failed%20macarons%20to%20sweeten%20the%20buttercream%20filling.%20Another%20good%20idea%20for%20failed%20macarons%20could%20be%20these%20Mac-Verrines!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20hung%20on%20to%20the%20failed%20matcha%20macs,%20made%20with%20some%20precious%20matcha%20from%20a%20little%20box%20Meeta%20brought%20for%20me%20at%20the%20FBC%20in%20London.%20Matcha%20is%20finely-milled%20Japanese%20green%20tea.%20I%20guard%20it%20with%20my%20life%20because%20I%20find%20the%20colour%20so%20fascinating.%20I%20HAD%20to%20put%20the%20failed%20matcha%20macs%20to%20some%20good%20use,%20so%20I%20ran%20them%20in%20the%20grinder%20and%20milled%20them%20back%20to%20powder.%20I%20made%20a%20butter-cream%20sweetened%20with%20matcha%20macaron%20powder,%20sandwiched%20my%20macs%20with%20them%20and%20came%20away%20singing!%20All%20thanks%20to%20egging%20on%20by%20Mardi%20and%20Jamie!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20stop%20by%20and%20look%20at%20the%20round%20up%20at%20MacTweets%20which%20shall%20be%20up%20later%20today.%20There%20is%20amazing%20creativity%20amongst%20our%20folk,%20and%20they%20never%20fail%20to%20impress!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMilled%20Nut%20Flour%20Macarons%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20for%20macarons%20from%20Ottolenghi%20%E2%80%93%20The%20Cookbook,%20posted%20here%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMacaron%20Butter-cream%20Filling%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E10-15%20macarons%20(I%20used%20failed%20matcha%20macarons)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrind%20the%20macarons%20in%20a%20coffee/%20nut%20grinder%20till%20fine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20the%20butter%20and%20cream%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy.%20Add%20most%20of%20the%20macaron%20powder,%20and%20continue%20to%20beat%20till%20of%20the%20correct%20consistency.%20Add%20more%20macaron%20powder%20if%20need%20be.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAssembling:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20macarons%20so%20their%20flat%20bottoms%20face%20up,%20and%20match%20the%20halves%20for%20size.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20half%20of%20them,%20pipe%20about%201%20teaspoon%20of%20butter-cream%20and%20sandwich%20these%20with%20the%20remaining%20macaroons,%20flat-side%20down,%20pressing%20slightly%20to%20spread%20the%20filling%20to%20the%20edges.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20to%20set%20in%20a%20closed%20box,%20in%20the%20fridge.%20They%20taste%20better%20after%2024%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%99%A5%20Thank%20you%20for%20stopping%20by%20%E2%99%A5%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20you%20want%20to%20join%20us%20making%20MACARONS??%20If%20you%20do,%20you%20are%20mo
