Ingredients

  • 1 bag frzn hash browns, thawed
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • 1 pkg. of brown gravy mix
  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. of hamburger
  • 1 sm. can french fried onions
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Brown hamburger meat and drain. Add in 1 package of gravy mix and 1 c. of water. Simmer 5 min. Add in 1/2 c. grated cheese. Crumble 1/2 can of onions over hamburger, then stir and simmer 10 min. Meanwhile, place 3 Tbsp. of oil in large baking dish (13 x 9), salt and pepper and hash browns. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min.
  2. Spread the hamburger mix over the hash browns. Bake for 20 min. Sprinkle 1/2 c. cheese (more, if you like) and 1/2 can of the remaining onions on top. Bake a few min more to heat the cheese on top.
