Directions

  1. The first and most important part of the cooking process is to choose a chicken that is only cooled and not frozen as its taste is much better if it has not been in the deep freezer. For baking chicken in oven, the ideal weight should be no more than one and a half kilograms and when choosing your chicken you need to make sure that the color of the skin is pail and slightly pink. That indicates that the chicken is fresh and will certainly be tasty.
  2. It will be best prepared in a pottery as it will heat slowly and will cook equally thus preventing it from burning from one side and staying raw on the other. Before you place it in the oven, preheat to 200 degrees C. If you have a chicken that is one kilogram you will need to bake for 40 minutes but if you have a kilo and a half then you should increase the cooking time to one hour. It is easy to see if it is baked by using a small wooden toothpick. Pierce the chest and if the juices run clear that means it is ready. Don’t leave it in the oven to cook for too long as you are risking of overcooking it and thus making it dry.
  3. In order to get the crispy skin on the outside you will need to use the grill just in the last 10 minutes of cooking. In case you haven’t got a grill in your oven, you can cover the chicken with honey or cooking cream and that will make the skin crispy too. Avoid using mayo for that as it will not bring the desired results.
  4. The easiest way to make a delicious chicken in oven is by cooking it on top of sea salt. Cover the bottom of a baking tray with one kilogram of sea salt and place the chicken on top. Don’t worry it will become too salty – it will not absorb more than the needed amount of salt and will be perfectly cooked and will have crispy skin too. Cook until it is ready and don’t forget to check it with a toothpick to make sure it is cooked all the way through as it can be dangerous to eat partially raw chicken.
  5. Chicken in oven is one of the best and most cooked dishes today. It is easy and convenient and doesn’t take much time to prepare. It is ideal if you have unexpected guests but have no meal prepared. It will cook while you eat your appetizers and will certainly be delicious every time if cooked properly. It goes best with roasted potatoes or just boiled vegetables.
