%20and%20a%20great%20contrast%20to%20more%20highly%20spiced%20foods%20with%20it%E2%80%99s%20rich,%20sweet%20mixture%20redolent%20of%20coffee%20covering%20a%20warm%20baked%20brie.%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20sure%20fire%20yum.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20I%20was%20taking%20photos%20of%20this%20dish%20the%20other%20day%20I%20was%20reminded%20of%20something%20I%E2%80%99ve%20had%20friends%20say%20and%20comments%20I%E2%80%99ve%20read%20on%20social%20media%20wondering%20if%20food%20bloggers%20ever%20make%20something%20awful.%20Oh%20yeah.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20had%20some%20missteps%20for%20sure.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20made%20some%20things%20that%20just%20didn%E2%80%99t%20cut%20it;%20either%20not%20a%20wow%20in%20the%20taste%20department%20or%20even%20total%20flops.%20Why%20yes%20I%20have%20burned%20something!%20My%20biggest%20snafus%20are%20more%20likely%20in%20the%20baked%20goods%20department%20but%20I%20blame%20that%20on%20our%20altitude%20(angel%20food%20cake%20anyone?)%20but%20I%20can%20usually%20rescue%20those%20with%20a%20creative%20frosting%20or%20a%20fruit%20filled%20crevice%20but%20for%20the%20most%20part%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20share%20those%20events.%20Do%20you%20really%20want%20to%20see%20something%20I%20forgot%20and%20burned?%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20think%20so.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStill%20there%20are%20those%20snafus%20that%20work%20actually%20and%20this%20appetizer%20is%20evidence%20of%20that.%20I%20love%20Brie%20appetizers%20but%20Brie%20is%20a%20fickle%20cheese;%20it%20can%20go%20from%20warm%20to%20runny%20in%20a%20heartbeat.%20And%20I%E2%80%99ve%20had%20it%20happen%20more%20than%20once.%20Multitasking%20might%20not%20be%20the%20best%20thing%20when%20baking%20Brie%20(especially%20when%20throwing%20photography%20into%20the%20mix)%20but%20that%E2%80%99s%20what%20I%20was%20doing%20the%20first%20time%20I%20made%20this%20and%20when%20I%20was%20ready%20to%20serve%20it,%20I%20had%20a%20puddle%20of%20Brie%20instead%20of%20that%20nicely%20formed%20cheese%20with%20a%20dripping%20and%20decadent%20topping.%20I%20punted,%20slid%20it%20all%20into%20this%20small%20ceramic%20pie%20dish%20and%20people%20raved.%20Not%20one%20person%20said,%20%E2%80%98But%20Barb%20why%20didn%E2%80%99t%20you%20serve%20this%20appetizer%20with%20the%20Brie%20standing%20alone%20on%20a%20dish%20with%20the%20decadent%20topping%20nicely%20dribbling%20over%20the%20sides?%E2%80%99%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20tried%20but%20I%20failed%20and%20yet%20in%20that%20I%20found%20that%20this%20presentation%20works%20and%20takes%20the%20guessing%20out%20of%20when%20the%20Brie%20is%20perfectly%20warm%20and%20ready.%20Now%20it%E2%80%99s%20referred%20to%20as%20%E2%80%98my%20Brie%20dish%E2%80%99%20and%20no%20matter%20whether%20I%20make%20it%20stand%20alone%20or%20encrust%20it%20in%20pastry,%20my%20Brie%20is%20always%20baked%20in%20this%20dish!%20Trust%20your%20timing%20better%20than%20I%20do%20mine?%20Go%20on,%20just%20put%20in%20on%20a%20plate%20and%20warm%20it%20for%20the%20time%20indicated%20in%20the%20recipe;%20it%20will%20be%20fine.%20But%20learn%20from%20my%20mistake;%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20not%20ready%20to%20serve%20it%20and%20think%20you%20can%20keep%20it%20warm%20in%20the%20oven,%20think%20again%E2%80%A6a%20puddle%20might%20be%20in%20your%20future%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMake%20sure%20you%20take%20a%20peek%20after%20the%20recipe%20for%20even%20more%20dips%E2%80%A6it%E2%80%99s%20almost%20game%20time!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKahlua,%20Walnut%20and%20Brown%20Sugar%20Baked%20Brie%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Author:%20Barb%20Serves:%206-8%20servings%20%20%20Ingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E12%20oz%20wheel%20of%20Brie%20%E2%85%94%20cup%20packed%20brown%20sugar%20%E2%85%94%20cup%20Kahlua%20%C2%BD%20tsp%20instant%20espresso%20(optional)%20%E2%85%94%20cup%20coarsely%20chopped%20walnuts,%20toasted%20Crackers%20Apple%20slices%20%20%20Preparation%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20Remove%20the%20top%20of%20the%20Brie%20wheel%20and%20place%20in%20a%20baking%20dish.%20Bake%20for%2010%20minutes.%20Meanwhile,%20in%20a%20medium%20saucepan,%20bring%20brown%20sugar%20and%20Kahlua%20to%20a%20boil.%20Add%20espresso%20powder%20if%20using%20and%20simmer%20for%20approximately%2010%20minutes%20until%20the%20mixture%20thickens%20slightly%20and%20coats%20the%20back%20of%20a%20spoon.%20Add%20the%20walnuts%20and%20warm%20for%20another%20minute%20or%20two.%20Remove%20the%20Brie%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20pour%20the%20sauce%20over%20the%20Brie.%20Return%20to%20the%20oven%20for%205%20more%20minutes.%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20serve%20warm%20with%20crackers%20and%20apple%20slices.%20%203.5.3208%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20hope%20you%E2%80%99ll%20check%20out%20the%20other%20great%20dip%20recipes%20from%20the%20Food%20Network%E2%80%99s%20%23ComfortFoodFeast!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFN%20Dish:%206%20Game-Day%20Favorites%20That%20Are%20Even%20Better%20As%20Dips%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
