Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp espresso powder (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup Pumpkin Spice Kahlua (or regular Kahlua if unavailable)
- 1 cup toasted walnut pieces, divided
- For the Brownie Glaze:
- 2 Tbsp Pumpkin Spice Kahlua
- For the Icing:
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- 2 Tbsp Kahlua
- 1 Tbsp whipping cream
- 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted

%20and%20that%20was%20just%20wrong!%20Want%20something%20less%20seasonal?%20Just%20use%20regular%20Kahlua%20or%20even%20bourbon;%20I%20love%20both!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20are%20my%20perfect%20brownie;%20so%20incredibly%20rich%20and%20moist%20and%20with%20another%20concession%20I%E2%80%99ve%20made%20over%20the%20years%20that%20helps%20to%20take%20them%20over%20the%20top.%20Toasted%20Walnuts.%20I%20used%20to%20just%20tolerate%20walnuts%20and%20would%20often%20simply%20substitute%20my%20more%20favored%20nut,%20pecans.%20Then%20one%20day%20some%20recipe%20somewhere%20must%20have%20called%20for%20toasted%20walnuts%20and%20life%20as%20I%20knew%20it%20changed.%20I%20had%20never%20thought%20of%20them%20as%20%E2%80%98raw%E2%80%99%20before%20if%20they%20were%20not%20toasted%20but%20that%20was%20it;%20that%E2%80%99s%20what%20I%20did%20NOT%20like.%20Now%20I%20toast%20both%20pecans%20and%20walnuts%20prior%20to%20including%20then%20in%20any%20recipe;%20that%20step%20changes%20them%20for%20the%20better%20in%20my%20book%20and%20I%20want%20better%20every%20chance%20I%20can%20and%20this%20is%20an%20easy%20one.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Kahlua%20serves%20mostly%20to%20make%20that%20chocolate%20ever%20so%20much%20better;%20coffee%20and%20chocolate%20are%20super%20compatible%20friends.%20Still,%20I%20can%20tell%20a%20greater%20difference%20with%20the%20Pumpkin%20Spice%20Kahlua.%20Not%20a%20huge%20one%20but%20that%20spiciness%20comes%20though%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20great%20addition;%20just%20a%20teeny%20bit%20of%20heat%20which%20is%20so%20perfect%20with%20the%20chocolate.%20Watch%20out%20for%20that%20frosting%20too;%20it%20is%20definitely%20spoon-worthy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKahlua%20Pumpkin%20Spice%20Brownies%20w/%20Brown%20Butter%20and%20Kahlua%20Frosting%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Brownies:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreparation%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%B0%20F.%20Line%20a%209x9-inch%20pan%20with%20parchment%20paper%20and%20spray%20with%20nonstick%20cooking%20spray.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Prepare%20brownies:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20sift%20flour,%20baking%20powder%20and%20salt%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUse%20a%20double%20boiler%20or%20a%20heatproof%20bowl%20set%20over%20a%20pan%20of%20simmering%20water%20(water%20from%20either%20should%20not%20actually%20touch%20inserted%20pan).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20butter,%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20espresso%20powder%20in%20top%20unit%20and%20stir%20until%20melted%20and%20smooth.%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20let%20cool%20down.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20sugar,%20eggs%20and%201/2%20cup%20Kahlua%20in%20mixer.%20Pour%20in%20chocolate%20mixture%20and%20beat%20well.%20Mix%20in%20dry%20ingredients%20and%20beat%20until%20just%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%203/4%20cup%20toasted%20walnuts%20and%20stir%20into%20brownie%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20batter%20into%20prepared%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2040%20to%2045%20minutes%20until%20toothpick%20inserted%20in%20center%20comes%20out%20almost%20clean%20(slightly%20gooey%20is%20fine;%20these%20are%20not%20cake%20brownies!).%20Top%20may%20be%20slightly%20cracked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20brownies%20from%20oven%20and%20immediately%20brush%20the%20top%20of%20the%20warm%20brownies%20with%202%20Tbsp%20of%20Kahlua.%20Let%20brownies%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Prepare%20Icing:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrown%20butter%20in%20saucepan.%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20add%20Kahlua%20&%20whipping%20cream.%20Whisk%20in%20powdered%20sugar%20until%20you%20have%20a%20smooth%20but%20still%20pourable%20consistency.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20on%20top%20of%20cooled%20brownies%20and%20spread%20to%20edges%20to%20cover%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESprinkle%20with%201/4%20cup%20of%20reserved%20toasted%20walnuts;%20light%20press%20nuts%20into%20frosting.Refrigerate%20until%20set%20(chilled%20brownies%20are%20easier%20to%20cut.%20Use%20a%20large,%20sharp%20knife%20that%20is%20warmed%20in%20a%20glass%20of%20hot%20water;%20wipe%20clean%20after%20each%20cut).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20brownies%20in%20a%20covered%20container;%20best%20if%20eaten%20within%20a%20couple%20of%20days.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.2%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.creative-culinary.com/kahlua-pumpkin-spice-brownies-with-brown-butter-and-kahlua-frosting/%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20brought%20to%20you%20by%20Creative%20Culinary%20%7C%20A%20Food%20and%20Cocktail%20Blog%20%7C%20Website:%20www.creative-culinary.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
