Just Plain Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1 can (12-oz) evaporated lowfat milk
  • 1 ct (8-oz) frzn whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 pkt (5.1-oz) vanilla instant pudding mix

Directions

  1. Beat together all ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer till well blended.
  2. Pour mix into freezer container of a 5-qt hand-turned or possibly electric freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Pack freezer with additional ice and rock salt, and let stand 1 hour before serving.
  3. Makes 5quarts. Bonus: For Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, stir in 1 c. semisweet chocolate mini-morsels before freezing.
  4. For Caramel Swirl Ice Cream, stir in 1 (12-oz) jar caramel topping after freezing. Spoon into a 6-qt container; cover and freeze.
  5. For Fudge Swirl Ice Cream, stir in 1 (12-oz) jar fudge sauce after freezing. Spoon into a 6-qt container; cover and freeze.
  6. For Blueberry-Vanilla Ice Cream, stir in 1 1/2 c. fresh or possibly frzn blueberries, thawed, after freezing.
