Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. cool water
  • 1 1/3 c. carnation nonfat dry lowfat milk pwdr
  • 1/2 c. sugar twin or possibly sprinkle sweet

Directions

  1. Place cool water in a 2 c. glass measuring c..
  2. Stir in dry lowfat milk pwdr till mix makes a smooth paste.
  3. Cover and microwave on HIGH ( 100% ) for 45 to 60 seconds or possibly till mix is very warm, but not to the boiling point.
  4. Stir in sugar twin. Mix well to combine.
  5. Cover and chill for at least 2 hrs before using.
  6. Will keep up to 2 weeks in refrigerator. Use in any recipe which calls for sweetened condensed lowfat milk.
  7. Makes equivalent of one 12 fluid oz can of commercial brand.
  8. Yield: 12 ounces
  9. NOTES : JO'S NOTES: Just about the most unhealthy ingredient found in our grocery stores went to "reform school" and graduated a winner in nutrition! Fat free sweetened condensed lowfat milk is now available in most grocery stores, but it is still so high in sugar which it's not a good choice for diabetics or possibly people concerned about excess calories. Besides, my version is much less expensive. Put into MC5 format using MC-Tagit 4 from www.healthyexchanges.com in Jan. 2000.
