%20asking%20me%20if%20I%20would%20like%20to%20try%20out%20some%20of%20Jamie%20Oliver's%20new%20Kitchen%20Kit.%20Would%20I????%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20didn't%20have%20to%20ask%20twice!!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20few%20days%20later%20a%20box%20arrived%20and%20I%20was%20thrilled%20to%20pieces%20to%20see%20what%20was%20in%20side.%20Jamie's%20Twist'n'Slide%20Apple%20Corer,%20a%20lovely%20coarse%20microwaveplane%20grater,%20a%203-in-1%20vegetable%20peeler%20(with%20blades%20for%20vegetables,%20soft%20fruit%20and%20jullienning)%20a%20lovely%20Garlic%20Slice'n'Press,%20a%205%20piece%20set%20of%20Kitchen%20tools%20(slotted%20and%20plain%20spoons,%20slotted%20fish%20slice,%20ladel%20and%20slotted%20turner)%20.%20.%20.%20all%20in%20beautiful%20polished%20stainless%20steel%20with%20soft%20grip%20handle%20inserts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Piece%20De%20Resistance%20though%20was%20a%20beautiful%20Beech%20Wood%20Knife%20Block,%20containing%20five%20lovely%20knives!%20(Paring,%20Utility,%20Chef's,%20Carving%20and%20Bread).%20Oh%20my%20but%20this%20is%20a%20brilliant%20set%20of%20knives%20composed%20of%20full%20tang%20Japanese%20MoV%20Stainless%20steel%20blades,%20a%20chunky%20weighted%20bolster%20for%20ease%20of%20chopping%20and%20slicing%20and%20beautifully%20carved%20handles.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat's%20also%20really%20brilliant%20about%20them%20is%20each%20knife%20has%20it's%20own%20name%20on%20the%20end%20of%20it%20so%20that%20you%20can%20easily%20identify%20it%20immediately%20without%20having%20to%20pull%20them%20all%20out%20of%20the%20rack%20to%20find%20the%20one%20you%20are%20looking%20for!%20(Can%20you%20say%20Over-The-Moon???)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20could%20hardly%20wait%20to%20use%20them,%20and%20I%20figured%20the%20best%20way%20to%20try%20them%20out%20was%20to%20do%20a%20test%20run%20of%20one%20of%20the%2030%20minute%20menu's%20in%20Jamie's%20newest%20book%2030%20Minute%20Meals!!%20Yep,%20I%20decided%20to%20really%20put%20Jamie%20to%20the%20test!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20honor%20of%20Bonfire%20Night%20I%20chose%20the%20Bonfire%20Night%20friendly%20menu%20of%20Catherine%20Wheel%20Sausage,%20Horseradish%20mash,%20Apple%20Salad,%20Sage%20and%20Leek%20Gravy%20and%20Stuffed%20Apples%20on%20page%20256%20of%20the%20book.%20(The%20Toddster%20is%20a%20real%20meat%20and%20potatoes%20kind%20of%20a%20guy%20and%20I%20thought%20he'd%20really%20enjoy%20it%20as%20well.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJamie%20suggests%20that%20you%20have%20all%20your%20ingredients%20and%20equipment%20assembled%20before%20you%20start,%20including%20a%20kettle%20of%20already%20boiled%20water,%20a%20heated%20grill%20and%20saucepans%20ready%20and%20waiting%20on%20a%20low%20heat%20on%20the%20stove.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20probably%20took%20me%20about%2020%20minutes%20to%20get%20everything%20set%20up%20before%20I%20started%20the%20timer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEverything%20went%20like%20clockwork.%20I%20used%20almost%20all%20of%20the%20kit%20as%20well,%20which%20was%20nice.%20The%20knives%20are%20beautiful.%20I%20loved%20the%20apple%20corer.%20It%20worked%20really%20well%20and%20cut%20the%20cores%20out%20the%20first%20time.%20It%20also%20has%20an%20integrated%20core%20ejector%20system%20which%20worked%20wonderfully%20at%20ejecting%20the%20apple%20cores%20from%20the%20shaft,%20lickety%20split%20and%20with%20no%20mess!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20happy%20to%20say%20that,%20at%20the%20end%20of%2030%20minutes,%20my%20kitchen%20was%20a%20tip%20.%20.%20.%20but%20we%20had%20a%20beautiful%20and%20delicious%20meal%20waiting%20for%20us%20to%20chow%20down%20on!%20(I%20normally%20like%20to%20clean%20as%20I%20go,%20but%20the%2030%20minute%20method%20doesn't%20allow%20for%20that%20nonsense!)%20There%20were%20a%20few%20minor%20nuisances,%20such%20as%20my%20stove%20and%20kitchen%20being%20far%20too%20small,%20but%20aside%20from%20that%20I%20really%20enjoyed%20the%20experience.%20Wonderful%20kitchen%20tools%20to%20use,%20a%20lovely%20cookbook%20with%20fantastic%20recipes%20.%20.%20.%20what%20more%20could%20you%20ask%20for?%20(well,%20besides%20a%20larger%20kitchen,%20a%20new%20stove%20and%20a%20dishwasher%20that%20is!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20in%20all%20I'd%20call%20it%20a%20success.%20Thank%20you%20Aaron%20for%20allowing%20me%20to%20try%20out%20these%20new%20gadgets!%20You%20really%20made%20my%20week!%20I%20also%20have%20to%20say%20thank%20you%20to%20Jamie%20for%20a%20great%20menu%20with%20some%20fantastic%20quick%20and%20easy%20recipes!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Stuffed%20Apples*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%20to%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDelicious%20baked%20apples%20stuffed%20with%20a%20sweet%20almond%20and%20dried%20apricot%20mixture.%20Adapted%20from%20Jamie%20Oliver's%2030%20Minute%20Dinners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20small%20apples%20(or%206%20if%20making%20it%20for%20six%20people)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(I%20used%20spartans)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECore%20the%20apples%20and%20then%20carefully%20score%20a%20line%20horizontally%20around%20the%20middle%20of%20each%20one,%20taking%20care%20not%20to%20cut%20in%20too%20deeply.%20Break%20the%20egg%20into%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20food%20processor.%20Add%20the%20sugar,%20apricots%20and%20almonds.%20Blitz%20until%20combined.%20Leave%20it%20a%20bit%20chunky.%20Use%20a%20spoon%20(or%20your%20fingers%20like%20I%20did)%20to%20stuff%20the%20apples%20with%20this%20mixture,%20working%20from%20both%20ends.%20Spread%20any%20leftover%20mixture%20in%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20lightly%20buttered%20earthenware%20dish.%20(Make%20sure%20it%20is%20large%20enough%20to%20hold%20all%20the%20apples,%20but%20snuggly.%20Also%20make%20sure%20it%20is%20microwave%20safe.)%20Sit%20the%20apples%20on%20top%20and%20then%20microwave,%20uncovered,%20for%2010%20minutes%20on%20full%20power.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20about%20200*C/400*F/%20gas%20mark%206.%20Remove%20the%20apples%20from%20the%20microwave.%20If%20any%20stuffing%20has%20come%20out,%20use%20a%20spoon%20to%20push%20it%20back%20in.%20Pop%20the%20apples%20into%20the%20heated%20oven%20to%20caramelize%20for%20a%20few%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20warm%20with%20a%20jugful%20of%20single%20cream%20or%20some%20natural%20yoghurt.%20(Jamie%20suggests%20that%20you%20drizzle%20over%20a%20splash%20of%20Cointreau%20and%20quickly%20set%20it%20alight%20for%20drama!%20Serve%20once%20the%20flames%20have%20died%20away.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPS%20-%20If%20there's%20anyone%20out%20there%20who%20wants%20someone%20to%20test%20out%20a%20new%20LARGER%20stove%20or%20a%20DISHWASHER%20or%20umm%20.%20.%20.%20a%20LARGER%20KITCHEN%20.%20.%20.%20I'm%20your%20Gal!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20these%20would%20do%20very%20nicely%20thanks!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
