Ingredients

  • 1 lb Hamburger
  • 1/2 c. Sliced mushrooms and liquid
  • 1 c. Minced onion
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 lrg Crushed garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp Basil
  • 3 1/2 c. Whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2/3 c. Tomato paste
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 c. Water

Directions

  1. Brown grnd chuck or possibly hamburger with onion and garlic in large saucepan.
  2. Drain off fat. Add in remaining ingredients. Stir to break up tomatoes. Boil gently, uncovered 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Serve over warm cooked pasta.
