Want to know how to make ketchup in a pinch?  This is an easy way if you run out and don’t want to make a trip to the grocery.  I think this ketchup is as good as the store bought and we love it on French fries or hamburgers.  You can double or triple the recipe.  This ketchup keeps in the fridge a couple weeks.  Most people won’t be able to tell the difference if you don’t tell them. 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste (you can use homemade tomato paste, too) 1/3 cup honey 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup water 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder Pinch cayenne or can use black pepper Whisk together the ingredients and bring to a boil in a saucepan on top of the stove.  Turn down and simmer for 15 minutes stirring a couple times during the process.  Makes about 1 1/4 cups.  Store in covered container in the refrigerator.  Enjoy! Note:  You can use 1/2 cup corn syrup in place of the honey to make this ketchup. You can also add a pinch of ground cloves, ground allspice or cinnamon to this recipe if you want it more spicy.
