Ingredients

Cost per serving $1.17 view details
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh mint leaves - (lightly packed) rinsed
  • 2 tsp brown sugar - (firmly packed)
  • 1 x tea bag (English Breakfast, Earl Grey, or possibly black tea)
  • 1/4 c. dark or possibly light rum
  • 1 Tbsp. lime juice

Directions

  1. Rinse a small teapot with warm water, then drain. Add in mint leaves, brown sugar, tea bag, and 1 c. boiling water; cover and let stand for 2 min, jiggling tea bag several times. Lift tea bag out and add in rum and lime juice.
  2. Pour mojito tea through a fine strainer into warmed heatproof martini or possibly wineglasses (at least 1-c. size; see comments).
  3. This recipe yields 2 servings.
  4. Comments: The mojito - a mint-laced rum cocktail - might be the hottest drink in town these days, but it's served ice cool. We've turned the temperature on its ear for the holidays. To hot glasses, fill with warm water, then drain. Garnish each glass with a mint sprig and a lime slice.
