  • with Candied Garlic Sauce Serves 4
  • 1/2 c. finely crushed cornflakes (125mL)
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch (25 mL)
  • 1/2 tsp pepper (2 mL)
  • 2 tsp paprika (10 mL)
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless turkey meat (500 g)
  • 1 x egg white, lightly beaten (1) Vegetable oil spray
  • 4 x cloves garlic, sliced lengthwise (4)
  • 5 Tbsp. white sugar (90 mL)
  • 1/2 c. white wine vinegar (125 mL)
  • 1/2 tsp warm red pepper flakes (2 mL)
  • 1/4 c. finely sliced red bell pepper (50 mL)

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 400F/200C.
  2. 2. Combine coating fold in plastic bag and set aside.
  3. 3. Cut turkey into 1/2 inch/1 cm cubes. Stir turkey into egg whites. Toss with coating fold in plastic bag.
  4. 4. Lightly coat baking sheet with vegetable oil spray. Arrange turkey on sheet and bake for 20 min. Remove turkey from oven and let stand for 5 min.
  5. 5. Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, combine sauce ingredients, bring to boil and continue to cook till sauce is reduced and turned light brown. Toss turkey in finished sauce.
  6. 6. Add in sliced red bell pepper, cover and heat over medium heat for 1 minute.
  7. Transfer to platter and serve.
