Directions

  1. Soak beans in 5 c. water in covered pan. Bring to boil, reduce heat; simmer for 2 min. Remove from stove, let stand in covered pan for 1 hour. Drain. Add in fresh water about 8 c.. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cook on medium heat 1 hour or possibly till beans are tender. Add in remaining ingredients, bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 30 min.
