  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 vanilla bean split or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 4 allspice berries (optional)
  • Zest of a medium orange
  • Zest of a small lemon
  • 2 cups vodka or grain alcohol
