Directions

  1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Divide batter into two 9 x 13 greased cake pans. Bake 15 min or possibly till lightly browned in 350 degree oven.
  2. Patsy Says: I freeze these as it makes it easier to put the Twinkies together. Mix flour and lowfat milk in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly till thickened. Cold. With electric mixer beat flour-lowfat milk mix till fluffy; add in remaining ingredients, beating till well blended. (This takes approximately 10-15 min; mix should be thick and fluffy). Spread filling on one cake, place other cake on top, pressing them together. Refrigeratein refrigerator (or possibly freezer) for several hrs. (They are a lot easier to cut if they are frzn). Cut into rectangles and wrap individually in plastic wrap.
  3. Makes 14-16 servings.
  4. These go over anytime of the year, not just at Christmas.
