?%20These%20are%20so%20easy%20to%20make%20(they%20use%20a%20box%20mix),%20kids%20can%20help,%20and%20everyone%20who%20eats%20them%20will%20love%20them%20for%20their%20design%20and%20their%20flavor.%20Cupcakes%20really%20are%20the%20perfect%20baked%20good%20to%20make%20with%20kids%20because%20it's%20so%20much%20fun%20to%20frost%20them%20and%20put%20sprinkles%20or%20whatever%20they%20want%20to%20on%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20the%20fact%20that%20the%20sprinkles%20look%20like%20lights%20on%20the%20tree%20and%20the%20star%20is%20on%20top%20shining%20brightly.%20I%20just%20keep%20cutting%20them%20open%20to%20look%20at%20them,%20then%20of%20course%20I%20have%20to%20eat%20them%20:).%20I'm%20so%20excited%20about%20making%20all%20of%20these%20Christmas%20treats%20this%20year%20even%20though%20it's%20fall.%20It's%20as%20though%20it%20just%20skipped%20Halloween%20and%20Thanksgiving%20in%20my%20head%20because%20I'm%20all%20about%20the%20red%20and%20green%20right%20now.%20I%20still%20have%20some%20fun%20ideas%20for%20Halloween%20but%20I%20should%20probably%20make%20them%20soon%20or%20I%20will%20miss%20the%20holiday%20itself!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20talk%20a%20little%20about%20the%2012%20Weeks%20of%20Christmas%20Treats%20Blog%20Hop%20again.%20It%20is%20a%20blog%20hop%20hosted%20each%20year%20by%20Brenda%20at%20Meal%20Planning%20Magic%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20it's%20lot%20of%20fun%20to%20participate%20in%20and%20see%20what%20everyone%20makes%20each%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eweek.%20I%20have%20a%20very%20exciting%20idea%20for%20next%20week,%20but%20here's%20hoping%20I%20can%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emake%20the%20recipe%20work%20:).%20If%20you%20want%20to%20participate%20too%20then%20you%20can%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20lots%20and%20lots%20of%20pictures%20of%20these%20cupcakes%20and%20the%20process%20to%20help%20me%20explain%20how%20I%20did%20what%20I%20did.%20I%20used%20cookie%20cutters%20for%20the%20two%20larger%20circles%20and%20two%20different%20sizes%20of%20cake%20decorating%20tips%20for%20the%20two%20smaller%20circles.%20Of%20course%20you%20can%20use%20whatever%20you%20can%20find%20to%20make%20the%20appropriate%20sized%20circles,%20small%20cans,%20the%20tops%20of%20bottles%20or%20small%20jars,%20anything%20that%20will%20cut%20the%20cake.%20I%20decided%20that%20distributing%20the%20sprinkles%20on%20top%20of%20the%20batter%20before%20baking%20resulted%20in%20the%20appearance%20of%20strings%20of%20lights%20on%20the%20trees,%20but%20you%20could%20also%20just%20stir%20the%20sprinkles%20in,%20then%20spread%20it%20on%20the%20pan,%20and%20light%20would%20be%20all%20over%20the%20trees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20can%20see,%20I%20had%20some%20extra%20cake%20scraps%20left%20over.%20I%20ate%20a%20fair%20amount%20of%20those%20:).%20Let%20me%20know%20if%20you%20try%20the%20recipe,%20I%20would%20love%20to%20see%20how%20they%20turn%20out!%20Happy%20Baking%20everyone!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHidden%20Christmas%20Tree%20Cupcakes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%2012%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E-%201%20box%20white%20cake%20mix%20(I%20used%20Duncan%20Hines)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20350F.%20Line%20a%2010%E2%80%9D%20x%2015%E2%80%9D%20cookie%20sheet%20with%20nonstick%20foil%20(or%20a%209%E2%80%9D%20x%2013%E2%80%9D%20baking%20dish).%20Prepare%20cake%20mix%20according%20to%20the%20directions%20on%20the%20box.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Measure%20out%201%20%C2%BD%20cups%20of%20prepared%20batter%20into%20a%20medium%20bowl.%20Stir%20in%20green%20food%20coloring%20until%20it%20has%20reached%20the%20shade%20of%20green%20that%20you%20desire.%20Pour%20the%20batter%20into%20the%20prepared%20cookie%20sheet%20and%20smooth.%20Evenly%20distribute%20the%202-3%20tablespoons%20of%20sprinkles%20over%20the%20batter%20(or%20stir%20the%20sprinkles%20into%20the%20batter%20then%20spread%20into%20pan).%20Bake%20for%2010-12%20minutes%20or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20into%20the%20cake%20comes%20out%20clean.%20If%20using%20a%209%E2%80%9D%20x%2013%E2%80%9D%20pan,%20the%20cake%20may%20take%20longer%20to%20bake.%20Set%20aside%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Line%20a%2012-cup%20muffin%20pan%20with%20paper%20liners.%20Using%204%20circle%20cookie%20cutters%20in%20different%20sizes,%20cut%20out%2012%20of%20each%20size%20circle.%20The%20largest%20cookie%20cutter%20should%20be%20almost%20the%20size%20of%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20paper%20liner.%20Stack%20the%20cake%20circles%20to%20look%20like%20a%20tree%20in%20each%20paper%20liner.%20The%20top%20of%20the%20tree%20should%20come%20to%20the%20top%20of%20the%20cupcake%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Evenly%20distribute%20the%20remaining%20batter%20around%20each%20tree%20in%20the%20cupcake%20pan%20making%20sure%20not%20to%20disturb%20the%20tree%20itself.%20Leave%20the%20top%20of%20the%20tree%20uncovered%20by%20batter.%20Bake%20the%20cupcakes%20for%2017-19%20minutes%20or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20off%20center%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20In%20a%20small%20bowl,%20stir%20about%201%20tablespoon%20of%20frosting%20with%20yellow%20food%20coloring%20until%20the%20desired%20color%20is%20reached.%20Spoon%20the%20yellow%20frosting%20into%20a%20piping%20bag%20or%20zip-top%20bag.%20If%20you%20cannot%20see%20the%20green%20tops%20of%20the%20trees,%20then%20use%20a%20toothpick%20to%20uncover%20them.%20Pipe%20%C2%BC-%C2%BD%20teaspoon%20yellow%20frosting%20over%20the%20top%20of%20each%20green%20circle.%20Carefully%20ice%20the%20cupcakes%20with%20the%20remaining%20white%20frosting%20using%20a%20piping%20bag%20or%20zip-top%20bag.%20Sprinkle%20with%20additional%20sprinkles,%20if%20desired.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20forget%20to%20follow%20me%20on%20Blog%20Lovin'%20or%20using%20one%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20buttons%20at%20the%20top%20of%20the%20page%20so%20you%20don't%20miss%20a%20recipe!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
