Name: Hearty Cabbage Soup
Ingredients: 1 pound grnd beef; 1 lg. onion, coarsely minced; 1/2 med. head cabbage, minced or possibly shredded; 6 c. chicken broth; 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce; 1 tbsp. salt; 1 tbsp. sugar; 3 peppercorns; 4 allspice berries; 1 bay leaf; 1 (12 ounce.) can V8 juice; 2 (6 ounce.) cans tomato paste; Grated cheese or possibly lowfat sour cream for garnish

Ingredients

1 pound grnd beef
1 lg. onion, coarsely minced
1/2 med. head cabbage, minced or possibly shredded
6 c. chicken broth
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 peppercorns
4 allspice berries
1 bay leaf
1 (12 ounce.) can V8 juice
2 (6 ounce.) cans tomato paste
Grated cheese or possibly lowfat sour cream for garnish

Directions

Brown beef in a heavy soup pot, add in onions and stir till soft. Combine all ingredients except V8 juice and tomato paste. Simmer for 1 hour. Add in V8 and tomato paste and simmer another 30 min. Serve topped with grated cheese and-or possibly dollop of lowfat sour cream.
