Ham and Cheese Waffle Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 frozen toaster waffles
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 pound sliced deli ham
  • 1/4 pound Cheddar, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Place 4 of the waffles on a work surface.
  2. Spread one side of each with the mustard (if using).
  3. Top with the ham, cheese, and the remaining waffles.
  4. Spread the top of each sandwich with 1/2 tablespoon of the butter.
  5. Melt the remaining butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  6. Place the sandwiches in the skillet, buttered-side up.
  7. Cook, pressing occasionally with the back of a spatula, until the cheese melts and the waffles are golden, 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  8. Serve with milkshake.* (optional)
