Grilled Pork Chops with Spice Paste Recipe
by Pam's Midwest Kitchen Korner

Take a dry rub, add moisture and you have a paste.  The moisture component can be beer, honey, cider vinegar, bourbon, wine, molasses, or it can simply be vegetable oil, as in this recipe... I would not have thought something as easy as a little paste spread on meat would work so well to create such tasty chops; it was a delicious surprise! Pastes such as this one are a great way to spice up your meats.  They are a blend of such things as paprika, dry mustard, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne, dried oregano or thyme, and garlic, sometimes a little sugar.   There are tons of pastes available in the grocery store, but the best one will be made with spicy ingredients from your kitchen cabinet using this great recipe: It’s a simple easy Everyday Food recipe that I adapted very slightly ~ mince some garlic and blend it together with a little oil, brown sugar and paprika.  I added cayenne pepper and coarsely ground black pepper for more pizzazz.  Spread the mixture over the meat and refrigerate for up to 3 hours before grilling. Ready for the grill! This simple spice paste is a wonderful thing for smoky grilled pork chops ~ they're a great tasty contribution to your protein intake for the day!
