Grilled Pork Chops with Spice Paste Recipe

I would not have thought something as easy as a little paste spread on meat would work so well to create such tasty chops; it was a delicious surprise!
Pastes such as this one are a great way to spice up your meats. They are a blend of such things as paprika, dry mustard, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne, dried oregano or thyme, and garlic, sometimes a little sugar.
There are tons of pastes available in the grocery store, but the best one will be made with spicy ingredients from your kitchen cabinet using this great recipe:
It’s a simple easy Everyday Food recipe that I adapted very slightly ~ mince some garlic and blend it together with a little oil, brown sugar and paprika. I added cayenne pepper and coarsely ground black pepper for more pizzazz. Spread the mixture over the meat and refrigerate for up to 3 hours before grilling.
Ready for the grill!This simple spice paste is a wonderful thing for smoky grilled pork chops ~ they're a great tasty contribution to your protein intake for the day!

Grilled Pork Chops with Spice Paste
A tasty paste for perfect grilled pork chops, from a slightly adapted Everyday Food recipe.
Ingredients:
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 teaspoons paprika
½ teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
4 bone-in pork loin chops (about 8 ounces each) 1” thick, trimmed of excess fat
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix together all the seasonings and oil until a paste forms.
Coat pork chops with paste and wrap in plastic.
Refrigerate 1 hour, or up to 3 hours.
Heat grill to medium-high, clean and lightly oil hot grates.
Grill pork until desired doneness, depending on thickness, about 7 minutes per side.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
