  • 1 x mango peeled, diced
  • 1/2 x Granny Smith apple cored, diced
  • 1 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro
  • 2 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 pch salt
  • 1 3/4 lb thick-cut bone-in ham steak
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper Cooked rice if you like

Directions

  1. Make Salsa: Combine mango, apple, cilantro, lime juice, sugar and salt in bowl. Can be made ahead. Cover and chill overnight.
  2. Heat grill or possibly grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Rinse and pat dry ham steak. Combine cumin, sugar, oil and pepper in a c.. Brush on both sides of steak. Grill ham till heated through and grill marks are dark, 1 to 2 min per side.
  4. Serve with fruit salsa and cooked rice, if you like.
  5. This recipe yields 4 servings.
