Is there anything better than apples with cheddar cheese? I think not. (Well, except for carmel and peanut butter of course). If you have never tried this as combination I highly recommend it. Anything with cheese is a go for me and that is what prompted me to pair apples and grilled cheese. Grilled cheese . . . . . good. Apples. . . . good. Put them together and you have, well you be the judge.

Ingredients

Cost per recipe $3.45 view details
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread (or whatever your favorite is)
  • 1 slice baby swiss cheese
  • 1 slice provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar (I like to use shredded because it melts so much
  • better)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 apple slices (I used 2 Granny Smith and 2 Red Gala)

Directions

  1. Start your skillet warming on low as you assemble your sandwich. Butter one side of your bread and place the provolone and swiss on one slice (on the unbuttered side of course), top with the apples and sprinkle the cheddar on top. Place your second piece of bread on top. Butter. Place it in your skillet and grill to perfection! This makes one serving.
