.%20%20%20Taste%20and%20season%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMay%20be%20served%20at%20room%20temperature%20or%20can%20be%20refrigerated%20for%20three%20days.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKudos%20to%20my%20sister%20who%20actually%20made%20this%20hummus%20(with%20my%20direction)%20as%20we%20prepared%20for%20a%20post%20Christmas%20buffet%20at%20our%20house%20after%20we%20returned%20from%20NM.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20let%20me%20tell%20you%20what%20inspired%20this%20most%20excellent%20hummus:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20we%20left%20Las%20Vegas,%20NM,%20we%20headed%20straight%20for%20Duel,%20a%20new%20brewery%20that%20I%20had%20researched%20for%20The%20Hubs.%20This%20brewery%20and%20taproom%20is%20in%20an%20unassuming%20industrial%20park%20area%20but%20wait%20until%20you%20walk%20inside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20decor%20and%20artwork%20were%20great.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20a%20brewpub%20with%20an%20artist%E2%80%99s%20heart.%20%20(In%20fact,%20I%20believe%20there%20are%20painting%20lessons%20here%20on%20Sundays.)%20%20The%20artist%20theme%20is%20carried%20over%20in%20their%20brews:%20%20Whistler,%20Danae%20(my%20favorite),%20Goya,%20Marcel,%20etc.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20almost%20deserted%20when%20we%20were%20there.%20%20%20There%20was%20one%20local%20having%20lunch%20and%20a%20father%20and%20son%20doing%20the%20New%20Mexican%20beer%20trail%20(following%20the%20breweries).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20their%20green%20chili%20hummus%20(the%20inspiration%20for%20this%20post)%20was%20presented%20a%20lot%20more%20artistically%20than%20mine%20above.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20our%20appetizers,%20The%20Hubs%20ordered%20the%20Waffle%20Cristo%20(A%20baguette%20stuffed%20with%20ham,%20Swiss%20cheese,%20Duel%20beer%20mustard,%20and%20berry%20preserve%20drenched%20in%20waffle%20batter%20and%20grilled.%20Served%20with%20Duel%20syrup%20for%20dipping.)%20%20I%20cannot%20rave%20enough%20about%20that%20Duel%20syrup%20which%20they%20make%20with%20the%20leftover%20wort.%20%20I%20could%20swig%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20ordered%20the%20Duchamp%20Salad%20(Organic%20mixed%20greens,%20chicken%20breast,%20Denmark%20bleu%20cheese,%20Mediterranean%20rosemary%20olives,%20roasted%20red%20peppers,%20carrots,%20and%20tarragon%20beer%20dressing.%20Served%20with%20sliced%20baguette,%20and%20herbed%20crostini.)%20%20I%20could%20also%20swig%20that%20tarragon%20beer%20dressing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20sampled%20the%20flight%20and%20then%20traveled%20on%20to%20our%20hotel.%20%20Again%20we%20stayed%20at%20Inn%20on%20the%20Alameda%20(where%20we%20had%20stayed%20on%20our%20last%20Christmas%20trip%20here).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20this%20boutique%20hotel%20which%20is%20located%20in%20the%20middle%20of%20all%20things%20Christmas.%20%20%20We%20were%20steps%20(literally)%20away%20from%20the%20Canyon%20Road%20Farolito%20Walk%20on%20Christmas%20Eve.%20%20%20A%20few%20more%20steps%20in%20the%20opposite%20direction%20and%20we%20were%20in%20the%20Plaza.%20%20%20Love%20this%20place.%20%20More%20about%20that%20later.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20only%20visited%20one%20other%20brewery%20on%20this%20trip,%20a%20return%20visit%20to%20Santa%20Fe%20Brewing.%20%20This%20is%20such%20an%20eclectic%20little%20place.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20out%20the%20planes%20made%20from%20beer%20cans.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20took%20no%20other%20food%20photos%20but%20I%20will%20tell%20you%20where%20we%20dined:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEl%20Meson%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20our%20first%20Christmas%20trip%20to%20SF,%20we%20just%20lucked%20out%20and%20got%20a%20table%20in%20the%20bar%20on%20Christmas%20Eve.%20%20A%20jazz%20trio%20was%20playing,%20the%20specials%20were%20delicious%20and%20the%20server%20was%20wonderful.%20%20This%20time,%20I%20made%20a%20reservation%20for%20the%2023rd.%20%20%20We%20ended%20up%20seated%20in%20the%20dining%20room%E2%80%A6not%20the%20same%20ambiance%20at%20all.%20%20%20Our%20waiter%20seemed%20rushed%20and%20our%20tapas%20were%20just%20so-so.%20%20%20(I%20will%20have%20to%20say%20the%20spaghetti%20squash%20au%20gratin%20was%20delicious,%20though.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEl%20Farol%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20sure%20that%20I%20had%20reservations%20here%20on%20Christmas%20Eve.%20%20%20El%20Farol%20is%20at%20the%20end%20of%20Canyon%20Road%20so%20I%20knew%20it%20would%20be%20packed%20and%20hard%20to%20get%20into%20that%20night.%20%20We%20had%208:00%20reservations%20and%20were%20greeted%20kindly%20(after%20the%20manager%20realized%20we%20did%20indeed%20have%20reservations.%20%20He%20was%20sending%20a%20lot%20of%20people%20packing%20after%20what%20must%20have%20been%20an%20extremely%20long%20service%20for%20him).%20%20Delicious!%20%20The%20prix%20fixe%20menu%20for%20the%20evening%20included%20options%20for%20steak,%20veal%20and%20seafood.%20Everything%20was%20delicious%20especially%20the%20steak%20and%20the%20churros!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDinner%20for%20Two%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20definitely%20the%20best%20meal%20of%20our%20visit.%20%20%20We%20dined%20here%20on%20Christmas%20night%20and%20the%20restaurant%20also%20had%20a%20prix%20fixe%20menu.%20%20%20Let%20me%20just%20say%20that%20our%20dinner%20was%20shrouded%20by%20some%20serious%20outside%20family%20drama%20so%20we%20didn%E2%80%99t%20get%20to%20enjoy%20our%20meal%20as%20much%20as%20we%20could%20have%20if%20our%20minds%20were%20not%20on%20our%20family.%20%20%20I%20will%20definitely%20return.%20%20Atmosphere,%20service%20and%20food%20was%20excellent!%20%20%20I%20know%20that%20we%20perplexed%20our%20server%20when%20we%20finally%20just%20asked%20for%20our%20dessert%20to%20be%20boxed%20up%20to%20go.%20%20%20Dinner%20for%20Two%20is%20definitely%20a%20restaurant%20where%20you%20could%20leisurely%20kill%20a%20couple%20of%20hours%20and%20love%20every%20minute%20of%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20sure%20there%20will%20be%20at%20least%20one%20more%20post%20of%20Christmas%20Eve%20photos%20on%20Canyon%20Road.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHope%20you%20had%20a%20festive%20and%20safe%20New%20Year%E2%80%99s%20Eve%20and%20best%20wishes%20for%202015!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
