Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 4 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 Packages yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 heaping tbsp. salt
  • Flour

Directions

  1. Let lowfat milk, sugar and shortening come to a boil. Cold to lukewarm. Add in yeast and sufficient flour to resemble soft cake batter. Beat well. Cover and set aside till it doubles in bulk. Add in baking pwdr, soda, salt to 1 c. of flour. Add in to dough. Add in sufficient flour to knead. After kneading, put dough in greased bowl. Cover and chill.
  2. When ready to use, knead and make into rolls. Let rise 1 1/2 hrs. Bake at 350 degrees till brown. Dough can be refrigerated.
