Ingredients

  • 8 c. hot water
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 Packages yeast dissolved in 1 c. hot water
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 lg. mixing spoon of lard
  • 16 - 18 c. flour or possibly sufficient to handle dough

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients. Let the dough rise to double in size, punch down and let rise again. Punch down a second time and let rise again. Shape into buns or possibly loaves of bread and let rise. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 min for bread, 30 to 35 min for buns. This makes a very large batch of bread. Ideal for bake sales. The secret to good bread is to always keep the dough hot as a tiny baby.
