Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or possibly shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar; beat well and add in Large eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and combine. Refrigeratedough several hrs or possibly overnight. Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and 2 Tbsp. cinnamon. Roll dough to size of walnuts and coat in sugar and cinnamon before baking 10 min at 400 degrees on well greased cookie sheet. Don't overbake. Cookies will puff up and fall after cooling.
  2. Have used this recipe for 30 years.
