Grandma's Recipe For Applesauce Cake Recipe

Ingredients

2 c. applesauce (canned preferred) 2 rounded c. sugar 3/4 c. shortening (12 T) 2 rounded teaspoon cinnamon 2 rounded teaspoon cloves

2 rounded teaspoon soda 2 rounded c. all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 c. raisins (plus candied fruit if you like) 1/2 c. minced nuts

Directions

1. Add in all ingredients in succession in large bowl by hand. Don't use electric mixer. Mix well. Bake in greased pan, 9 x 13 or possibly 9 x 9, at 350 degrees for one hour.
