Ingredients

  • 2 can tuna (6 1/2 ounce. ea.) liquid removed Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 x egg white
  • 1/4 c. chives minced Paprika
  • 4 piece bread

Directions

  1. Prepare tuna as for a sandwich; add in Worchestershire sauce and chives; set aside. Broil bread on one side only; remove from oven and set aside. Beat egg white till stiff, and add in to tuna mix.
  2. Put generous heaps of tuna mix on the untoasted side of the bread, and sprinkle with Paprika. Broil till lightly browned on top. May be served whole or possibly cut into 4 wedges and served as an hors d'oeuvre.
  3. Ginger Says:This recipe isn't really a holiday theme, but my mother always made it as an hors d'oeuvre for holiday parties, as well as for brunch on Sundays. It has no real name, other than "Funny Sandwiches" - I'm sure they have a real name, but it is lost in time now. They acquired this name when, as a very young child, I asked her "what are those funny sandwiches", and the name stuck. She is home with God now, so I cannot ask her what they're really called, but they are great for brunch as a whole sandwich, or possibly perfect finger food for parties!
