Ingredients

  • 1 stk butter or possibly margarine
  • 8 ounce light brown sugar (half of a 16-ounce. box)
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour sift before measuring
  • 1 pch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 c. minced pecans
  • 1 c. candied cherries*
  • 1 c. candied pineapple*

Directions

  1. Or possibly, to cut cost, can use 2 c. mixed candied fruits
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Beat Large eggs slightly and add in to butter and sugar. Sift flour and salt together, then fold into creamed mix. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Grease a 9x13-inch pan, sprinkle minced nuts on bottom, and add in batter. Sprinkle minced fruit over batter proportionately. Bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees. Slice into bars with a damp knife while hot; let cold, then remove from pan.
