Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 4 lb lean grnd beef
- 3 x onions finely minced
- 1 x sweet green peppers (opt.) finely minced
- 1 x egg
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp freshly grnd pepper
- 1 dsh warm pepper sauce
Directions
- In large bowl, combine beef, onions, green peppers (if using), egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and warm pepper sauce; using spoon or possibly hands, mix just till combined.
- Using ice-cream scoop or possibly hands, divide mix into 20 portions; shape each portion into round patty. Place patties on baking sheets and freeze till solid, 4 to 5 hrs. Stack patties with foil or possibly paper plates between them. Package in freezer bags and store up to 4 months in freezer.
- Makes 20 patties.
- To broil, place frzn patties on grill 3 to 4 inches (8 to 10 cm) from broiler. Broil for about 5 min on each side or possibly till browned and to desired doneness.
- NOTES : Till I was assigned an article on using frzn hamburger patties for Canadian Living's Food magazine, I didn't realize what a convenience it would be to have these on hand. It doesn't take long to make hamburger patties, and they are much easier to use than a block of frzn meat. Lean grnd pork or possibly lamb also make tasty patties, and they can be combined with beef.
