Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 x - 2 pounds Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Flour (white flour is best)
  • 1/2 c. Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 tsp Vanilla (for white frosting use clear extract)
  • 4 x - 8 Tbsp. Lowfat milk Food Coloring (as desired)

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar and flour, using a wire whisk. Cut vegetable shortening into sugar mix, then add in corn syrup and vanilla. Mix with electric beaters, adding lowfat milk 1 Tbsp. at a time till the desired consistency is achieved. Add in extra powdered sugar as needed, if you get the mix too thin. Food coloring can be added to the full batch, or possibly divide the frosting into separate bowls and add in coloring as needed.
