- 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
- 3 1/2 cups of water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp of ginger juice ( I used powdered ginger)
- 1 Tbs powdered sugar

.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20came%20out%20of%20the%20file%20is%20a%20classic%20drink%20of%20Northern%20India%20Angoor%20ka%20Sharbat.%20Now%20if%20you're%20wondering%20if%20I%20misspelled%20that%20word,%20surely%20I%20mean%20sherbert,%20or%20sorbet.%20Yeah,%20well%20that's%20what%20it%20evolved%20into%20in%20many%20places,%20but%20the%20word%20started%20out%20in%20Persia%20as%20sharbat%20a%20sweet%20chilled%20drink%20made%20from%20fruit%20or%20flowers,%20and%20spices.%20When%20the%20Mughals%20moved%20down%20into%20Northern%20India%20they%20brought%20their%20sharbat%20with%20them.%20Some%20sharbats%20can%20be%20medicinal%20and%20ayurvedic,%20others%20just%20for%20pure%20refreshment.%20If%20you%20go%20back%20into%20sharbat%20lore%20(I%20did)%20there%20are%20stories%20of%20the%20Mughal%20ruler%20who%20used%20to%20send%20his%20guys%20into%20the%20Himalayas%20for%20ice%20to%20make%20his%20sharbat.%20Can't%20seem%20to%20find%20his%20name%20or%20any%20more%20info%20about%20him.%20Wonder%20how%20long%20he%20lasted?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20sharbat%20I'm%20featuring%20here%20is%20a%20very%20simple%20one%20with%20very%20few%20spices,%20thus%20easy%20to%20make.%20Mix%20it%20up%20in%20your%20blender,%20(I%20know%20it'll%20be%20easier%20to%20get%20to%20then%20mine)%20chill%20it%20for%20an%20hour%20or%20two%20and%20serve%20it%20over%20ice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAngoor%20ka%20Sharbat%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20What%20You%20Need:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20What%20To%20Do:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%202%20cuts%20of%20clean%20washed%20grapes%20into%20a%20blender%20or%20food%20processor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrind%20them%20up%20to%20a%20fine%20puree.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20in%203%20and%201/2%20cups%20of%20water.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStrain%20it%20all%20through%20a%20sieve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20out%20the%20grape%20pulp.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20in%201%20Tbs%20powdered%20sugar%20to%20the%20grape%20water%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20it%20well%20and%20then%20add%20in%201tsp%20of%20cumin%20powder...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E...and%201%20tsp%20of%20fresh%20lemon%20juice%20and%201%20tsp%20ginger%20juice%20or%20ginger%20powder%20if%20you%20have%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20everything%20together%20well,%20and%20chill%20in%20the%20fridge%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20it%20%20over%20ice%20in%20tall%20glasses%20garnished%20with%20mint%20leaves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20drink%20is%20not%20super%20sweet%20since%20the%20whole%20recipe%20only%20calls%20for%201%20Tbs%20of%20sugar.%20The%20sweetness%20depends%20upon%20the%20grapes%20one%20is%20using,%20the%20cumin,%20lemon%20and%20ginger%20mixed%20in%20give%20it%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20kick%20that%20makes%20it%20a%20real%20thirst%20quencher%20on%20a%20hot%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20all%20the%20Moms%20celebrating%20this%20weekend,%20congratulations!%20I%20hope%20everyone%20has%20a%20wonderful%20weekend.%20I'm%20going%20to%20be%20hunting%20my%20elusive%20blender%20so%20that%20hopefully%20I%20have%20a%20few%20more%20tools%20to%20work%20with.%20Coming%20up%20next,%20mangos!%20Follow%20along%20on%20Twitter%20@kathygori%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
