Ingredients
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
- 3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 T butter
- 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 3/4 c. dry bread crumbs
- Oil
- Powdered sugar
Directions
- Mix sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in pan. Gradually stir in lowfat milk. Heat to boiling over medium heat. Stir constantly, boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and peel. Spread in ungreased 8 x 8 inch dish. Chill uncovered at least 3 hrs.Cut into 2 inch squares. Dip squares into large eggs. Coat with crumbs. Fry till light brown. Drain then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
