Francis Ford Coppola's Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 med onions, chop
  • 3 can imported Italian tomatoes, crush, drain, 28oz e
  • 1 bn fresh basil, chop
  • 1 pch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 lb spaghetti, cook, reserve the water

Directions

  1. Sauteeonions in oil. Add in tomatoes, 1/4 of the basil and pepper flakes. Simmer about 45 min. Add in butter and remaining basil. If sauce is too thick, add in some pasta cooking water. Serve over pasta.
