Flank Steak In Garlic Pitas

Ingredients

  • 2 x Beef flank steaks(2 lbs.ea)
  • 1/4 c. Honey
  • 1 Tbsp. Grated gingerroot
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1 can Or possibly bottle (12 ounce.) beer
  • 1/3 c. Margarine or possibly butter
  • 2 x Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 10 x Pita breads (6"in diameter)

Directions

  1. Trim fat from beef steaks. Cut both sides of beef in diamond pattern 1/8 inch deep. Place in shallow glass dish. Mix remaining ingredients except Garlic Pitas; pour over beef. Cover and chill at least 4 hrs but no longer than 24 hrs, turning occasionally.
  2. Remove beef from marinade; reserve marinade. Cover and grill beef 6 inches from medium coals about 12 min for medium doneness, turning after 6 min and brushing frequently with marinade. Throw away any remaining marinade. Cut beef diagonally into thin slices; serve on Garlic Pitas.
  3. Garlic Pitas: Mix margarine and garlic; spread over pita breads. Wrap in aluminum foil and heat on grill about 5 min or possibly till margarine is melted.
  4. Yield: 10 servings
