How to make Chocolate Bread Pudding

Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe is another sweet treat for all the chocolate lovers out there. It is rich and oozing with yummy goodness in every bite, which definitely will fill your cravings for chocolate, a comfort food it is. This bread pudding can be served warm or cold just let it cool, and then refrigerate for an hour covered with plastic wrap.

Since the usual pudding is famously known as a breakfast food while this version is also perfect for desserts. Chocolate Bread Pudding is such an easy recipe to learn and it only needs some simple ingredients such as leftover bread and chocolate which can be done for over an hour.

Filipino Chocolate Bread Pudding Ingredients

1 loaf bread or leftover breads, sliced

Choco Bread Pudding Instructions:

Slice the bread and place in a large bowl.

Combine milk and cream in a saucepan and heat over medium high until slightly simmer.

Add the cocoa powder and a pinch of salt, then stir to combine and turn off the heat and set aside.

In a bowl, combine egg yolks, whole eggs and sugar, whisk well until light and frothy.

Add small amounts of cocoa mixture into the egg mixture to temper the eggs and whisk well.

Pour back the egg mixture into the saucepan of remaining cocoa mixture and whisk well to combine.

Strain the mixture over a bowl of sliced bread.

Add in prepared chopped chocolate and mix well. Let the bread soak for about 15-20 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 300F.

Transfer the pudding mixture into a greased 8×8 pan or any similar baking tin.

Spread evenly and pour all chocolate custard mixture over the bread mixture.

Sprinkle some extra choco chips or any chopped chocolate if you like.

Bake the bread pudding for about 35-40 minutes with the rack place on the center.

You know its done when you insert a clean toothpick and it’s slightly moist.

Fire off, transfer on a cooling rack and let it cool slightly before serving.
