Ingredients

  • 1 pt. fig preserves, liquid removed
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Grind the preserves and nuts together. Set aside. Cream butter, brown and white sugar. Add in large eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add in to mix. Refrigerate dough. Divide for easy handling. (I divide before chilling.) Roll dough very thin. Spread with preserves and nuts. Roll as jelly roll. Refrigerate. Slice and bake 10 to 12 min at 325 degrees. Makes about 5 dozen.
