Fiesta Hot Chocolate

Looking for an über rich hot cocoa? This is a spin off of Café Mexicano. Fiesta Hot Chocolate has similar properties. Instead of using coffee, you use milk.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 3 Whole Cloves
  • 1 Stick Cinnamon, Broken In Half
  • 2 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
  • Garnish:
  • Whipped Cream
  • Cinnamon Sticks

Directions

  1. Mix cocoa and flour in 2-quart saucepan. Stir in brown sugar, milk, cloves, and 1 stick cinnamon. Heat just to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes (DO NOT boil).
  2. Remove from heat; remove cloves and cinnamon. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat with a wire whisk until foamy.
  3. Pour into 4 cups or mugs. Serve with whipped cream and cinnamon sticks.
