Directions

  1. Boil together for 5 min the applesauce, sugar and shortening. Let stand overnight. Dredge minced fruit and nuts with flour, soda, salt and spices, that have been sifted together.
  2. Bake in lined pans in a slow 250 degree oven for 2 1/2 hrs or possibly till done. Fill pans about 2/3 full. Makes 5 loaves.
