Eco-Friendly Diapers: How a Cloth-Diapering Family Survives the Newborn Stage

I’ve made no secret of the fact that I am ALL about cloth diapers. I love how they look, I love how easy they are to care for, I love knowing that my eco-friendly diapers are taking a little step towards helping save the environment. But there are a couple things I don’t love about them: night-time leaks (rgh!) and the newborn phase (the dreaded newborn phase).

Oh, newborns. They’s so cute and cuddly and…poopy. And full of pee. They just pee and poop all the dang time. Many newborns use as many as 20 diapers a day! As much as I love cloth diapers, I will admit that I don’t use them during the newborn phase. I don’t have the patience. But I still don’t want my little ones to be exposed to a bunch of chemicals. And at this stage, I really don’t have time to be running around to all the natural stores trying to track down eco-friendly diapers. So what’s a new mom to do?

I have my eco-friendly diapers shipped straight to my doorstep

Heck yeah. I use The Honest Company (yes, the one founded by Jessica Alba) to get my safe and sustainable…and cute!…diapers automatically sent to me during the first months of my baby’s life. With The Honest company, I get the best of everything: eco-friendly diapers that are easy, affordable, and organic.

The Honest Company was started by a mom and a dad who, like many modern parents, were increasingly worried about products made with questionable chemical ingredients. But the alternatives they found were often expensive, inaccessible, bland, or ineffective. In response to this clear need for something better, they created The Honest Company to ensure that parents (or anyone for that matter!) could easily find natural and non-toxic eco-friendly products that are beautiful, effective, and affordable. From customized product bundles to diapers and wipes to an ever-expanding line of cleaning and personal care products, you can find everything you need at Honest.com and have it delivered directly to your front door.
