Ingredients

  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 T Crisco
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • Buttermilk

Directions

  1. Sift flour and sugar. Add in yeast and blend. Add in Crisco and mix with sufficient buttermilk to make medium soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead till smooth. Place in tightly covered container and chill overnight. Make out rolls and let rise till double in size. Bake at 425 degrees till browned. When rolls start to brown, brush tops with melted butter. This dough can be kept in refrigerator for several days and used as needed.
