Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature

%E2%80%A6.and%20ALL%20of%20them%20asked%20me%20a%20gazillion%20times%20to%20make%20more.%20%20In%20total,%20I've%20made%20them%204%20times%20since%20December.%20%20You%20know%20a%20recipe%20is%20that%20good%20when%20you%20make%20it%20over%20and%20over%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUp%20until%20then,%20I%20didn't%20think%20anything%20could%20touch%20my%20original%20recipe%20for%20sugar%20cookies%20(which%20can%20be%20found%20here).%20%20I%20was%20so%20wrong%20about%20that!%20%20We%20actually%20enjoy%20these%20more%20and%20will%20probably%20stick%20with%20them%20from%20now%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20cookies%20are%20not%20to%20sweet,%20nor%20are%20they%20not%20to%20bland.%20%20They%20are%20perfect!%20%20They%20are%20nice%20and%20crispy%20on%20the%20outside%20and%20soft/chewy%20on%20the%20inside%20and%20they%20have%20my%20favorite%20ingredient,%20almond%20extract.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20Valentine's%20Day%20is%20around%20the%20corner,%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20heart%20shaped%20ones.%20%20However,%20you%20can%20cut%20them%20out%20and%20decorate%20them%20for%20any%20season%20that%20you%20wish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20are%20pink%20splotches%20on%20the%20cookies%20because%20I%20had%20to%20make%20my%20own%20pink%20colored%20sugar.%20%20I%20didn't%20wait%20to%20place%20those%20cute%20little%20white%20beads%20on%20until%20after%20they%20were%20finished%20baking%20so%20I%20think%20I'll%20do%20that%20next%20go%20round.%20%20I%20also%20added%20an%20extra%20two%20tablespoons%20of%20flour%20to%20the%20dough%20because%20we%20live%20in%20an%20high%20altitude%20area.%20%20This%20caused%20the%20cookies%20to%20puff%20up%20a%20little%20more%20then%20usual.%20%20But%20hey,%20we%20aren't%20going%20for%20looks%20here,%20we're%20going%20for%20taste%E2%80%A6right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20any%20event,%20they%20still%20rock,%20no%20matter%20how%20they%20may%20look%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20hope%20this%20recipe%20makes%20it%20to%20your%20family's%20favorite%20file%20soon!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EP.S.%20If%20anyone%20has%20an%20awesome%20frosting%20recipe%20to%20go%20along%20with%20this%20cookie,%20please%20do%20share%20it%20in%20the%20comment%20section%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEasy%20Sugar%20Cookie%20Cut-Outs%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(makes%2024-30%20cookies)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20%20In%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl,%20cream%20together%20butter%20and%20sugar%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy,%20around%202%20minutes.%20%20Add%20in%20egg,%20vanilla%20extract,%20%20and%20almond%20extract.%20%20Mix%20until%20well%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20%20In%20a%20separate%20mixing%20bowl,%20combine%20flour,%20baking%20powder,%20and%20salt.%20%20Slowly%20add%20the%20flour%20mixture%20to%20the%20butter%20mixture%20and%20mix%20until%20completely%20combined.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20%20Divide%20the%20dough%20in%20half%20and%20place%20each%20half%20in%20a%20plastic%20bag.%20%20Place%20the%20plastic%20bags%20in%20the%20fridge%20to%20chill%20for%20an%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20%20Take%20dough%20out%20and%20roll%20them%20between%20two%20sheets%20of%20parchment%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20%20Cut%20dough%20into%20shapes,%20about%201/4%20inch%20thick.%20%20Transfer%20cut%20outs%20to%20a%20cookie%20sheet%20lined%20with%20parchment%20paper.%20%20Sprinkle%20with%20colored%20sugars%20and%20decorations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20%20Bake%20for%208-12%20minutes.%20%20Cool%20on%20baking%20sheet%20for%205%20minutes%20then%20transfer%20to%20a%20baking%20rack%20until%20they%20are%20cooled%20completely.%20%20Cookies%20should%20look%20a%20little%20under%20baked%20when%20pulled%20out%20of%20the%20oven.%20%20They%20will%20firm%20up%20over%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20Source:%20%20From%20the%20blog,%20Love%20Grows%20Wild.%20%20Recipe%20can%20be%20found%20here.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
