Ingredients

  • 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Cream shortening with boiling water till well mixed by hand or possibly electric mixer. Add in salt and flour all at once, mix. Form into a ball; refrigeratecovered, at least one hour. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 min for a single crust. Yields pastry for 2 shells or possibly a top and bottom.
