Easy Carmelitas

Yummy dessert bars that only take minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C soft butter
  • 3/4 C mix of sugar and brown sugar
  • 1 C AP flour
  • 1 C quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 C chocolate chips of choice (I like Nestles dark chocolate morsels)
  • 1/3 C pecan bits
  • 1/2 jar Hershey's Caramel Ice Cream Topping

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. Cream butter and sugars.
  3. Add next 4 ingredients and mix well.
  4. Grease an 8x11 or 9x9 pan.
  5. Press down 1/2 of the flour mix into bottom of the pan and bake 10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle on chips, pecans and drizzle on 1/2 of the jar of caramel.
  7. Sprinkle on the rest of the flour mix, press gently down.
  8. Bake 20-25 minutes, until top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool completely and cut into bars.
