Dry Sweet Vermicelli ( Sevian Sanja )

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. ghee
  • 4 Tbsp. raisins
  • 4 Tbsp. flaked almonds
  • 300 gm vermicelli broken into short lengths
  • 60 gm caster sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom pwdr

Directions

  1. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the raisins and the almonds till golden brown.
  2. Remove with a slotted spoon
  3. In the same ghee fry the vermicelli till golden brown without allowing it to brown.
  4. Add in the sugar and mix well.
  5. Sprinkle in a few drops of water stir and cook till soft adding a little water as necessary.
  6. Take off the heat and stir in the cardamom pwdr.
  7. The dish should be dry.
  8. Serve hot garnished with the fried raisins and almonds.
  9. Can be made richer with the addition of ghee and nuts.
  10. Serves 4
