Ingredients

  • 1 lb grnd beef, extra lean
  • 1/2 lb grnd pork -- extra lean
  • 1 whl egg
  • 8 ounce no salt added tomato sauce
  • 4 1/2 ounce mushrooms liquid removed and sliced
  • 1 sm onion -- finely diced
  • 1 clv garlic -- chopped
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs -- plain
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp. low sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp mustard pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 slc bacon, raw, medium slice

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients except bacon together. Spread mix in loaf pan 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 or possibly 9x5x2 inches. Layer bacon on top of loaf. Bake in a 350 F oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hrs.
