Ingredients

  • 2 c. Grnd Meat Mix (see recipe)
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 8 x tostada shells 5" in diameter
  • 16 ounce nonfat refried beans
  • 1/2 c. nonfat cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 pkt taco seasoning mix
  • 1 c. iceberg lettuce shredded

Directions

  1. Place grnd meat mix and water in a saucepan. Cover and cook over low heat15 min; stirring occasionally. Break up with a fork. Cover and cook 5 min more. Drain. Meanwhile, spread one side of each tostado shell with refried beans; set aside. Put cheese and taco seasoning fold in a plastic seal bag and shake vigorously to coat cheese.
  2. NOTES : To assemble, place 1 tostado shell, bean side up, on a serving dish. Layer 1/4 c. meat mix, a little lettuce and 2 tablespoonscheese mix over bean layer of each. Place second tostado shell atop.
  3. Repeat meat, lettuce, and cheese layers.
