Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 5 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 bot beer

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F, prepare pans. Measure dry ingredients into bowl & pour beer over, stirring to blend. Spoon into pans & brush tops with butter.
  2. Bake for 15-20 mins.
  3. Makes 9 large muffins. Serve warm, a little grated cheddar cheese may be sprinkled on top before baking if you like.

As this book is Canadian I've asked a Canadian friend how large a bottle of beer is over there, she says they are small about equivalent to a can of beer here (NZ), about 375 mls I think but do not quote me on which.
