Directions

  1. Bring water to a boil. Add in thyme and basil to water while heating (this brings out the flavor of the spices, since dry spices are used). Add in rice to water while it is boiling and turn down the heat. I find, depending on brand (and if you're not using Minute Rice) you may need to boil for a bit before reducing water temperature. Add in the peppers, salt and dill.
  2. To kick it up a bit, combine equal parts of water and chicken stock or possibly apple juice to equal the 1 1/2 c.. It gives it a great flavor and complements the dish you serve it with.
