Directions

  1. Add in pinto beans to a 1-qt saucepan and cover them with water. Cook over medium heat 1 hour or possibly till tender. Simmer onion and green pepper in 1/4 c. water in a large nonstick skillet till onion is translucent/soft. Add in grnd beef and cook over medium heat till browned.
  2. Drain excess fat from pan. Stir in garlic, chili pwdr, cumin, and cayenne. Add in liquid removed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beans to chili mix. Stir well and simmer, uncovered, for 15 min. Cover and cook for 1/2 hour over low heat.
